Melrose Stand
For many distinguished racehorse
owners this modern stand is at the heart of the action affording
splendid views of the track as well as easy access to the
Parade Ring.
The stand has 27 boxes spread over three
floors are usually used as Annual Rentals however, the Race
Committee have decided to retain some for daily usage. Every
box has its own balcony and comes fully furnished including
TV. There are exclusive Tote betting points and toilets on
each floor.
The Knavesmire Stand
This stand was opened in 1996 with York racegoers finding
it so popular that most boxes are repeat booked year on year.
From here you will have a breathtaking
view across the course. From your private balconies, the boxes
are ideal places to host first time racegoers and to relax
into a day of quality racing.
Sponsors Suite
When this box has a great
view of the finish and that remains a key benefit of this
unique location that has enjoyed a recent refurbishment.
This box offers the crescendo of excitement
as runners flash past its open balcony; if you missed them
live then watch the repeat on the York Raceday Television
which is provided, before collecting your Tote winnings
upstairs.
Marquee
This provides a private dining for larger groups which
can also be combined to cater for conferences and exhibitions
with an afternoon of racing.
It is provided, fully furnished with boarded
and carpeted floor, entrance lobby and patio doors as well
as full York Raceday Television coverage of racing and dedicated
Tote betting facilities.
Getting to York racecourse
York Racecourse is
easy to reach. Throughout the race season pick up travel updates
on York Raceday Radio (1602 KHz, medium wave) when you're
within 10 miles of the course.
By Road
York Racecourse is situated just outside the city of York
with good motorway links on the M1 and A1. Once near the city,
from the south, east and west the A64 and A1036 are the roads
to follow. From the north, use the A19 and A59, then the York
Ring Road to avoid the city centre.
By Rail
The train journey from London Kings Crossis just under
2 hours and some 2.5 hours from Edinburgh. Manchester and
Birmingham are also direct. With the racecourse 1 mile from
the station and City Centre , there is a First Bus raceday
shuttle runs every 20 minutes.
York is a member of the 'Back a Winner by
Train' scheme, enabling racegoers travelling by train to York
from most main-line stations in the north and north midlands
(including Edinburgh) to obtain a discount voucher off the
Tattersalls Enclosure admission at all of York's meetings
- but not on the August Festival.
As well as the savings on admission, racegoers
taking advantage of this popular scheme also receive money
off a Tote Exacta bet valued at £5 or more.
By Air
Leeds/Bradford and Manchester International airports are
both less than two hours from York Racecourse.
