National Hunt and Flat

About the Windsor Racecourse

Royal Windsor racecourse offers the unique blend of charm, comfort and excitement which epitomises horseracing. You can choose from 29 racemeetings from April to December, including 17 Monday evening meetings. 25 of these are flat meetings with 4 in November and December being the new National Hunt fixtures.

The racecourse has also extensive facilities in 165 acres of grounds for other functions including conferences, exhibitions, fun days, dinner dances and weddings.

The Track
The course at Royal Windsor is the only figure-of-eight flat course in the country, and the sharp bends mean that the focus is on speed rather than stamina, though the effect is slightly offset by the long home straight of almost five furlongs. It is completely flat and has a circuit of 1 mile 4½ furlongs.

Facilities at the Windsor Racecourse

The Windsor race course has three different areas: - The Club Enclosure, The Grandstand Enclosure and the Silver Ring.

Club Enclosure - Often known as the Members Enclosure
This enclosure gives you access to all public areas, bars and restaurants and allows entry to the Members Lawn, Paddock lawn, Parade Ring, Pre-Parade Ring & Silver Ring areas. The Club Enclosure has the prime position next to the winning post.

Grandstand Enclosure - Tattersalls & Paddock
The Grandstand enclosure gives you access to the Grandstand, Paddock Lawn, Parade Ring, Pre Parade Ring & Silver Ring areas, giving you various bars & eating areas to choose from. This area has a reasonable view of the winning post which is superbly complemented by a big screen directly opposite.

Silver Ring - The Course or Family Enclosure
The Silver Ring has a cafeteria & licensed bar and allows access to the Silver Ring and Centre Course areas only. It is approximately half a furlong (110 yards) prior to the winning post although you can stand at the winning post in the centre of the course if you want to

The Silver Ring Picnic Car Park is the only area on the course where picnics are allowed and the best positions in this area do tend to be taken quite quickly due to their reasonable viewing and access to Centre Course.

All enclosures have TOTE betting facilities, bookmakers and access to the centre of the racecourse.
