Introduction to Hamilton Park Racecourse
Hamilton has been hosting racing on their
current site since July 1926. Before that, racing had been
staged in Hamilton as early as 1782 with a 4 mile race offering
a purse of 50 guineas.
Hamilton Park Racecourse
is going from strength to strength, building on its widespread
popularity with racegoer's and corporate guests alike, to
encompass a 365 days a year calendar, satisfying the increasing
number of modern businesses and individuals who seek something
different, memorable and special for their conference, day
out or personal occasion. The racecourse has rose from raceday
favourite to year-round selection.
After the course's
£2.5 million refurbishment, the facilities offer all
the quality and service you would expect from a top rated
hotel. Their suites provide the ideal, professional environment
for conferences, exhibitions, interviews and product launches.
The Grandstand and beautiful, award-winning grounds are available
for hire every day of the year, the perfect setting for a
wedding.
Whether its raceday or not and whatever
your needs, Hamilton Park Racecourse will prove a winner,
Hamilton Park is just off the M74 which means
they are easy to get to, but once inside it seems like a different
world. Manicured lawns and leafy paddocks. Dazzling silks
and powerful thoroughbreds. Come racing and see for yourself.
Highlights of the Hamilton Park racing calender
The highlights include the famous Saints
& Sinners Charity Evening Meeting on Wednesday 9th June
and Velvet Fair Friday Evening on 16th July. Kids are welcome
anytime (and can come for free!), but their Family Day on
Sunday 2nd May and Sunday Mail Family Night on Saturday 10th
July are not to be missed. The season rounds off on Monday
27th September with the course's Festival Finale.
Race course Enclosures
The Grandstand
gives you access to the main grandstand, and also the betting
ring and Tote betting, as well as viewing at the parade ring
and winners enclosure. It also offers a variety of food and
bar outlets. T
The Club, which you can join
for the day, overlooks the winning line and gives you exclusive
access to certain bars, as well as all areas mentioned above.
Parking
The Hamilton Park Racecourse
offers free parking in the main public car park for all meetings.
There is also a Club Car Park for label holders, those with
pre-booked Club badges, Annual Members, Owners, Trainers and
Jockeys. On busier days/evenings, at Hamilton College and
Caird Street, there is overflow parking available.
Dress Code
The racecourse does not have a dress code
because they like their racegoer's to be happy and comfortable.
Although there is a lot of grass around, there are also plenty
of paths, so high heels are not a problem. The evening meetings
are a good excuse for dressing up.
