Cheltenham Racecourse - Home of the Cheltenham Gold Cup
The number one priority of the Cheltenham
Racecourse has always been to provide the best underfoot conditions
for the horses, not only in the Championship events during
March, but throughout the season.
Two years ago it was decided that
the scope of the Racecourse to produce to right conditions
would be broadened, with a larger area to use throughout the
season. So the Racecourse undertook a course widening programme,
which has seen the New Course widened, to increase the total
racing surface by 10%. This amounts to an extra five acres.
Most of the works have taken place recently,
involving input from Cheltenham Racecourse, STRI and a civil
engineering company - Quadrant Consulting. The aim was to
provide the track extension areas for racing by Autumn 2004,
and to provide sufficient time for the new track to establish
satisfactorily prior to racing. By September 2002 the track
extension works had to be completed.
Corporate Hospitality
at the Cheltenham Racecourse
There are numerous
ways to enjoy a day at Cheltenham Racecs. Entertaining guests
in a box, chalet or marquee and meeting friends for lunch,
before racing, can add an extra dimension to that experience.
At Cheltenham Racecourse, they offer a range
of opportunities in the Grandstand throughout all 16 fixtures
with additioanl accommodation in the Tented Village for The
Open in November and The Festival in March.
There are boxes in the Grandstand which can
be booked for all meetings except The Cheltenham Festival.
The Panoramic Restaurant has dramatic views
over the course. The Gold Cup Restaurant and Foxhunter are
conveniently located just behind the Grandstand. All of these
facilities are available throughout the season.
For The Open in November, they add The Final
Fence comprising a restaurant and boxes with balconies located
directly opposite that most challenging moment of the race.
The range increases for the festival to include
the Horseshoe Pavilion, Champion's Drive and Glass Fronted
Restaurant, which are all in the Tented Village.
Mementos of the visit to Cheltenham
and gifts can be purchased and selected from The Cheltenham
Collection and Best Mate Range and delivered to your hospitality
facility. For further information telephone the racecourse.
